The design challenge for the Huguenot Memorial Park project was to create a cohesive branding, signage, and wayfinding system that reflects the park’s natural beauty and diverse activities while enhancing visitor experience. With a variety of attractions, including beach areas, camping grounds, picnic spots, and water activities, the park required a clear and visually appealing system to guide visitors seamlessly through the landscape. The challenge was to develop a visual identity that balanced the park’s serene coastal environment with its adventurous spirit, using symbols, colors, and typography that are both engaging and easy to navigate.

Design Solution

To address the needs of Huguenot Memorial Park, the rebranding and wayfinding system were crafted to enhance both functionality and aesthetic appeal. The primary logo captures the essence of the park with symbols that represent its diverse activities and natural landscape, creating an inviting and recognizable identity. A secondary logo was developed to provide flexibility across various applications, offering a simplified yet cohesive visual that complements the primary branding. For the wayfinding system, clear, nature-inspired icons and color coding were used to intuitively guide visitors to key areas like beaches, campsites, and picnic spots. This design solution ensures that the park’s brand and signage work together seamlessly, creating a memorable and user-friendly experience for all visitors.

Project Results

The Huguenot Memorial Park rebrand and wayfinding project successfully transformed the visitor experience with a cohesive and intuitive identity. The new branding captures the park’s natural charm and adventurous spirit, while the signage system enhances accessibility and navigation throughout the park. To bring the design to life, I created detailed renderings for the signage, showcasing how each piece would function within the park’s environment. These renderings provided a clear vision for placement, scale, and visual impact, ensuring that the signage is not only informative but also seamlessly integrated with the landscape.
